Kenyan in and around Cape Town

About Gathua

I am an Architect by training and a photographer in training. My wife and I live and work in the beautiful mother city, Cape Town.

Knowing well that Kenya is bigger than the geographical area called ‘Kenya’, I hope to add to the story of Kenya by telling of Kenyans in South Africa, more so in Cape Town, through my lenses; people we meet and their cultures, friends we’ve made along the way, places we go, our experiences as Kenyans in South Africa and the beautiful land of South Africa (Mzansi for shoo!).

These are our stories and their stories… home away from home.

You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook and View my photo stream on flickr!

Have you tried Patchwork SSB? It seems like a good place for a blogger with your spread of content.

    Hi gathua,

I’m writing you regarding one of your pictures. I’m talking about the one from the roller coaster during sunset. I would very much like to use it as my background for my new upcoming website called http://www.coaster-lab.com. Do I have your permission to do so? I can, if necessary, give credit or label a link to it.

    thanks in advance!
